Who are we and What is our purpose?
The purpose of Anguish of Heart Ministries is to direct the emotionally wounded to the Lord in order to embrace the life which He intended for all.
This retreat is time in our Spiritual Intensive Care Unit (S.I.C.U.) , which is dedicated to extending great care to the wounded through a team of Godly servants we call “Wounded Heart Specialists”.
These servants have grown through similar life experience themselves and return to the retreat to share with others the hope and healing that our Lord has given them.
You’ll find that although we help you look into your heart, it is only Jesus, The Great Physician, who brings complete healing. Our part is simply to pray, speak the Word of God, listen to your needs and lead you to a personal encounter with Him.
What's it all about?
The Anguish of Heart weekend is a promising opportunity for people to give the Lord their lost hopes and dreams. We’ve all seen disappoint-ment and loss; and sometimes in the hurt we wall up and refuse to share our hearts. Why? Because circumstances can be too painful or shameful to admit. This retreat offers you a safe place to open up and examine your life in a Christ-centered and protected environment.
This is all done openly, honestly and with integrity. Its focus is you and God. It is a special time for listening, praying and seeking the Lord.
Oh, and by the way, this weekend is not a “retreat” in the sense of a two-day withdrawal from the world. It is a weekend of INVOLVEMENT. And did we mention how much fun it is? You can count on great fun, great fellowship, and positive things ahead for you.
You’ll be encouraged to share (not with everybody there):
- Strong points and weaknesses;
- Joys and frustrations;
- Desires and disappointments;
- Hurts, fears and rejections; and
- Hopes, dreams and victories.
This healing retreat is for anyone who has been emotionally wounded, whether recently or in years past.
It is for…
- The divorced or the widowed;
- The abused or the abandoned;
- The disappointed or the brokenhearted;
- The emotionally “stuck”; and
- Anyone who is in “spiritual limbo”.
- Anyone who wants to grow closer to GOD.
Believe it or not, we can be a difficult people for our Savior to comfort. We find it easier to seek man’s answers to our problems and situations instead of our creator and redeemer. But the scripture says that our Heavenly Father’s heart anguishes when we turn away from Him; for He longs to touch the wounded with His great restorative love. During the various ministry times - presentations by 2 people revealing their life story, personal reflection time, and small group sharing - you’ll sense the presence of the Almighty as He stirs your own heart for healing… like the pools of Bethesda found in John 5:2.
